Frequently Asked Question
Reboot the Chromebook to see if that helps
Make sure you are connected to a WI-FI network. Check the icon in the bottom right hand corner.
If possible try connecting to another WI-FI network to see if you can log successfully.
Make sure you are using the correct login. It should be the same username and password as your login to a computer at school.
The standard format is your graduating year + first initial of your first name and complete last name + @ocsdny.org
i.e. 24JSmith@ocsdny.org
*NOTE* Not every student follows this naming convention due to duplicate names
Make sure you are putting in the correct password. Remember that the passwords are case sensitive.
To confirm that the password you are typing is correct you can Click the eye icon in the password field.
If you are unsure of your password or your username you can check with your school’s guidance counselor, or the student’s teacher.
At the Chromebook login window, it should automatically append the “@ocsdny.org” automatically so that part of the username won’t need to be manually entered.
Check the time and date in the bottom right corner of your screen. Is it correct? If your date and time are off, you probably won't be able to connect to WI-FI which would stop you from being able to login. Correct the time and date to see if that solves your problem.
If you have another student in the house, are they able to login to the Chromebook?
